Match Report | Ripley Rangers under 7's took on a very strong Robin Hood Colts side. From the start it was a hard fought game as Ripley worked hard in defence to prevent Robin Hood from scoring, A scramble across the front of goal lead to a Ripley own goal taking them into half time losing 1 -0. A much stronger second half saw a great run from one end of the pitch to the other by Ciaran Gillespie to score Ripley's first goal of the game, Sadly confusion in Ripleys defence lead to Robin Hood scoring 2 more goals only minutes later. Ripley stayed strong thanks to some amazing midfield play from Thomas Harrison. Great team play and fantastic passing between Ripley enabled Thomas Rankin to score and make it 3-2 . The boys were unlucky to have numerous attempts on goal blocked and in the dying seconds of what looked like being a defeat a quality corner taken by Daniel Wilson saw Thomas Rankin reading the game and finding space to fire the ball into the bottom corner just before the full time whistle. A great comeback by the boys showing how well they play as a team well done.
