Match Report |
Sunday Morning, bright and sunny and the U9’s were raring to go. The lads got off to a fast start with great passing between midfield players Jacob Stuart and Bray Bowley and then forward onto Coby Didcok. The team kept applying pressure at the goal end of Santos with a numbers of corners being taken but the back of the net could not be found. The first half, although packed with action, saw the lads leave the pitch with a 0-0 score. Play resumed after half time and within the first few minutes Coby took a shot on goal and it was in, 1-0 to the Rangers. There was strong play at both ends of the pitch with the two teams taking control of the ball whilst Ripley Rangers hung onto their lead. Santos’ forward then broke through the Rangers defence and they bought the score back to a level 1-1. Disappointed but with their heads up, the Rangers carried on to take the game to Santos’ end but they just could not get the ball in, so close on a number of occasions. The full time whistle blew and it was a draw. Man of the Match was Bray Bowley |
