Match Report

The first half got off to a strong start with a pass from Bray Bowley to Jacob Stuart resulting in a goal within the first few minutes. The game continued at a fast pace with the Ranger’s midfield and forward’s pushing ahead. A cracking strike by Coby Didcock towards the goal was finished by Jacob, giving him his second goal for the game. A quick substitution was made with Billy Horne taking a place in defence in place of Rylee Fletcher-Slack. Coby then advanced towards the Tiger’s end and hit the left post, but the ball bounced just right and entered the goal.

Ripley Ranger’s were 3-0 up at the end of the first half and had been the dominant side the whole half. At the start of the second half Bray took over from Noah Winfield in goal and Noah took his place in midfield. Passing was excellent between the Ranger’s but we could not get to the goal. Lucas Benniston took a free kick but hit the strong Tibshelf  wall and the ball was back in play. Then a long kick by Jake Morledge and a header of a Tiger player fell at the feet of Jacob, who with a straight, powerful kick from just outside the penalty box scored his third goal through the keeper’s legs! Jacob’s first hat trick of the season.

As play got underway again the Rangers won a number of corners, Coby took aim on the goal but the keeper hit it back out to play, straight at Jacob, who with a gentle kick tapped into the back of net. Rangers were 5-0 up and Jacob had scored his fourth goal of the game. The Tigers managed to get the ball in the Ranger’s end of the pitch but the defence, led by Lucas, team captain were having none of it. In no time the ball was back in the Tiger’s end and Noah was running with the ball, he took a clean shot just past the half way line to Coby and with a small, experienced turn he kicked the ball with his left foot and found the back of the net.

The final score 6-0 to the Rangers with Coby Didcock as man of the match.
