About the club

Born out of the lack of opportunity for young players to get involved in football in Ripley, Ripley Rangers FC was formed in 2011 with just 4 teams, but has already exceeded the dreams and expectations of the founding members.

In 2016 Ripley Rangers merged with Ripley Town Football Clubs Adult team, and became Ripley Town Football Club.

The club now runs a team in most age groups, starting with the under 7’s, all the way up to the adult team, including teams for both boys and girls. We also have our "academy" for children 5 and under, which gives them the opportunity to train and be ready for when they're old enough to join the Under 7's team.

Run entirely by volunteers, Ripley Town FC is a family friendly club, working to include players and people from all areas of the community. The Club has already forged close links with Derby County and have managed to access significant funding from various local businesses and councillors, to help develop even further.

All teams train once a week on dedicated training nights, depending on which age group they are in, and the clubs philosophy it to make training inclusive and FUN. Ripley Town provides a safe environment to help players develop their ball skills, increase fitness and above all learn important social skills, and make lots of new friends.

For more details of age groups, training nights, locations and much more, visit the club website at www.ripleytownfc.co.uk

The players are given the opportunity to experience competitive football with each team. All teams are entered in to local leagues, with the younger players at the development age (U7-U11) being able to play on smaller pitches and starting with 5-a-side at Under 7 and Under 8, moving on to 7-a-side at Under 9 and Under 10, the 9-a-side at Under 11 and Under 12. This enables the players to learn the game on a realistic size pitch and with fewer players. From Under 13 the players move to full size pitches playing in 11-a-side leagues.

Ripley Town FC is a Charter Standard Club, which means the Club is committed to providing a high quality, safe and enjoyable experience that is nationally recognised and quality assured. The Club currently has over 300 children involved in both playing and training, and is currently in the process of obtaining recognition as a Community Charter Standard Club, which is the highest award possible. The growth since the beginning has been swift and considerable, as the links within the community have strengthened, with children playing the game they love from all over Amber Valley. All Coaches with in the Club are required to obtain their FA Level One coaching qualification as a minimum requirement, we are also lucky to have some of our coaching staff with their FA Level Two qualification,  Our coaches are dedicated to providing the best standard of coaching and creating a FUN environment for all. The age groups covered this season are: Under six Academy,  Under 8’s, Under 9’s, Under 10’s, Under 11’s, Under 12’s, Under 13’s, Under 14, Under 16's Girls, Under 16’s Boys, Under 18's and Adult team..

As well as the regular training and matches, Ripley Town FC also arranges a number of social events and activities for players and parents to get involved. So far these have included a Pride Park Play-On-The-Pitch opportunity, where a group of players had the chance to be mascots for Derby County, and attend a presentation evenings for the end of the season. The club has also held race nights, casino nights and a night at the dogs. These events are an important way for the Club to raise money and we look forward to hosting more in the future. Please keep an eye on our events calendar for any upcoming events.

Ripley Town FC is part funded by donations and sponsorship from local businesses.
